For Christmas my sisters and I decided we would get some pictures done of us girls and the grand kids for mom for Christmas. Its getting so hard to figure out what to get our parents for Christmas these days. This is one thing we knew she would love!....and she did!
A few months ago Elise had Jane take some pictures of her and Carter and she expressed interest in taking some pictures of the boys together so we decided she would be perfect for doing our pictures. We have known Jane's sister for several years and they have a very sweet family. Jane especially amazes me with her talent, her faith, and she so much fun to be around. Once Upon a Christmas Eve

Haley was a penguin again this year for her Christmas ballet recital...every year this is a busy, crazy, tired week for our family but worth all of it to see Haley up on stage dancing her little heart out.

After the recital...

We have made it a family tradition on Willie's side of the family to all have a Christmas party/dinner after the recital at Lytle Land and Cattle. We rent out the party room, have full buffet waiting on use, and bring funny white elephant gifts to exchange Chinese Christmas style. It's a lot of fun and a good stress reliever from the week we all just went through getting reaDy for the recital.

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!!

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday...especially since I have kids. All the fun things that are going on, family around all the time, and decorations!
Parker is really enjoying the christmas time this year...Last year he still really didn't grasp what was going on. This year he talks about Santa Claus (which he likes from a distance), the christmas tree, and the lights on the houses (he calls them christmas tree lights). He is so excited about everything.
Last Saturday Willie and I went to our small group christmas dinner and my mother-in-law watched the kids for us. She sent a text to me with this picture...I thought it was pretty cute. Not sure where they took it but I am thinking Mr. Gatti's since that's where she took them to eat.

Here are the kids stockings this year...I picked them up at a local boutique type place...I thought they were so cute.

And here is our Christmas tree...since we got new furniture this year there isn't much extra room but we made it work. Hopefully by next Christmas we will be in a new house (bigger!).

Haley 8 Parker 2

Well both of our kids have gotten a year older since my last post. October is a stressful and exciting month for us. Parker and Haley's birthday are only 5 days apart so this mom goes nuts trying to plan two birthday parties!
Haley's party was Oct. 1st. We invited all of our family and her girl friends from school to out house. We rented an 18ft water slide and let the girls go crazy! Haley said it was the best birthday ever. (she says that every year) We had a great time!

Here is my 8 year old!

We had Parker's party on Oct. 15th at the Southern Hills Church playground. Love this place! Its free and they have tables and trash cans. Makes it a lot easier on me! We did a Mickey Mouse birthday and all the little ones had a great time. Parker was pretty shy because of all the people and attention but he warmed up once we opened presents.

Last trip to PK for the summer

Last weekend we took our last little mini-vacation to Possum Kingdom for the summer. School started Monday so its time to get back to our routine. We have had a wonderful summer and have spent a lot of time away from home. Which has been really good for us. We usually don't do much during the summer except go to the Dallas or the waterpark a few times but this summer we spent almost every other weekend at the lake. It has been very relaxing.
This trip was lots of fun because there was a big group of us who went. Mom & Dad, Nan & Pawp, Curtis & Brian, and our little family all drove down to the lake Friday afternoon and stayed all weekend. We had a great time!

The lake was wonderful this weekend. There was hardly anyone out...not sure why. But more fun and room for us to play around on the water. The water was so smooth and calm. Definately the best weekend so far at PK.

I am sure our lake time for this year isn't over...because its still 100 degrees everyday. But we will stay close to home and enjoy the small lakes around Abilene.

I got some cute pictures of the boys a few weeks ago at the lake. Here they are at Sandy Beach playing in the sand. They got hot so we stripped them down.

They ate a lot while we were out on the boat. I guess they were using a lot of energy being out in the sun. They sure had a good time. Willie let them take turns driving the boat but I didn't get any pictures of that.

If you are wondering where Haley is...she is in the water. She is a little fish. Everytime we get in the boat she wants to know when she can jump out!

My sister, Amber, took this picture of Parker on Father's Day when we were out at mom & dad's. I love it! Parker looks like a little model...if you ask me. Even at 20 months old he has such a fun personality. This is one of the ages that I love...he is more independent, funny, communicating more, and learning new things everyday. He loves to sing songs and dance which is so cute. He is definately out of the baby stage....which is a little sad to me but I know they can't stay babies forever :)

A litte update...

I know I have been slacking big time on the ol' blog...but there hasn't been too much to write about. Never the less, here is a little update...

About 3 months ago Willie started talking about wanting a boat or seadoo's so he has been searching the internet for exactly what he wanted. In my opinion our kids are way too young for seadoo's so I told him that a boat would be better and everyone could be in the water at the same time, we could take people with us, and its a little safier. So we looked at what seemed to be hundreds of boats for sale. He finally found one he loved!

He wanted a red boat and so this one was perfect. The lady hooked us up too with life jackets, tubes, and ropes. She wanted it all gone! Me & Willie don't really know much about the mechanics of a boat so we are learning as we go but we have had a great time taking it out on the water. The kids love it! Haley can't wait to jump off the back and Parker loves to help daddy drive. Parker isn't a big fan of the life jacket but he is getting better. Here is the whole family...

Last week Haley went on a trip with my grandmother to the coast (Freeport). They went to the beach everyday, went to the Kemah boardwalk, NASA space center, and the battleship. She was gone for about 6 days so she got a little homesick towards the end but it was worth it because she had a great time.

All together we have spent most of our summer in and around the water. Its too hot to do anything else!

Miranda Lambert

Back in March they announced that Miranda Lambert would be coming to Abilene in April for a concert. I am a pretty big fan of her. I love her music and listen to it daily. She has a personality a lot like mine and grew up in Texas. I mentioned to Willie a few times that she was coming and it would be cool if we could go but nothing much else was ever said about it. A week before the concert a good friend of mine messaged me that she had 2 tickets and wanted to know if I would go with her. Of course I was excited and told her that I would talk to Willie about it and let her know. Well that afternoon my mom dropped by to give us a card for our Wedding Anniversary (which isn't until May 17th). Anyways she got us 2 tickets to the concert...of course Willie already knew about b/c they had talked about it behind my back. I was so excited all week. The tickets we got were pretty good seats. We were on the very top row but pretty close to the stage.
The concert was great. A little loud for a country music concert but I think they just over did the guitars and base. We both had headaches afterwards but I would go again. Most of Abilene was there I think so we saw lots of people we knew and our friends. It was a great date night. (which doesn't happen often)

Saturday we all went out to mom and dad's had lunch and watched the kids hunt for eggs. The boys had a great time.

Spring Break

Spring Break was last week for us and it really doesn't mean much in our house except that Haley doesn't have school for a week. Me and Willie decided to take off work Friday and go to Dallas to do some fun things over the weekend. Elise didn't have school either so her and Carter went with us.

We took the kids to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was really neat but very crowded because everyone was out of school. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the fish and animals. Here are some of the pictures I took while we were there.

We also went to the Grapevine Mills Mall and out to eat at several of our favorite resturants while we were in the metroplex.

My kids aren't very good travelers so I was a little nervous but they did great. On the way home we had to stop 3 times because of diaper changes and Haley needing to go potty but once we got that out of the way it wasn't too bad. We were pretty tuckered out when we got back but I am glad the kids had a good weekend away.

Snow pictures

We stayed home for 4 days straight last week just like the rest of Abilene. I don't ever remember seeing this much snow in Abilene in my life time. I loved that the kids were going to get to play outside in the snow but unfortunately it was just too cold. We did go out the first day for about 5 minutes to get pictures but we soon rushed back in b/c of the cold.

Yes we got cabin fever just like everyone else. I love being home with the kids but I am not cut out to be a stay at home mom. I have to get out and go places (spend money...LOL) Thats why I work. By Friday night we were waiting under the carport for Willie to come pick us up after he got off work to take us to dinner and run some errands.

I am thankful for the time I got to spend with my kids but I was looking forward to coming back to work on Monday!

50's day

Last Friday Haley had 50's day at school. Me and Haley always look forward to dress up days at school b/c they are fun and it usually means I get to go eat lunch with Haley. Last year Haley was in kindergarten so we were still new at all these special event days but we were prepared this year. During the summer I had one of our friends Joy Moudy make Haley a poodle skirt b/c I knew we would be needing one for years to come. The outfit would have been a lot cutier without the tights but it was pretty cold that day. Here are some of the pictures I took with my phone and then edited them. (still learning)

50's day is really a treat for the kiddos at Haley's school b/c they get their pictures made with an old 50's car, then they do a Sock Hop where the kids dance to 50's music, then they have burgers and fries for lunch with Ice Cream sundaes afterwards. What a fun day!!

I had to share this picture I took of Parker last week. I got a new camera app. on my phone and its really cool. After you take a picture you can edit, crop, and do all kinds of things to it. I am still learning how to do everything but this one turned out really cute!

Christmas 2010

This Christmas was wonderful. The kids really got into it this year. Parker and Carter were old enough this year to kind of understand all the excitement. Parker never really did get into unwrapping but he was excited to see what was in each package.
Here is a picture of Carter and Parker playing at Mom & Dad's in the new wagon. Both boys got their own wagon and they loved them. It was way too cold to play outside on Christmas Eve so we pulled the boys around the house in one of the wagons. They had a great time and both got upset when we had to put them up.

Parker got a ball pit and a puppy pillow pet from Santa Claus. He thought that was pretty cool and got right in the ball pit to play. Only thing I regret about this purchase is that there really isn't anywhere to put it in the house. So for now its in the living room. :(

We got Parker a Disney Cars couch as his big gift for the 2 of us. Haley had a Dora one when she was little and loved it. So when I saw them at Walmart I knew it would be a perfect gift. I was right. He loves it and sits on it daily. Thank goodness b/c they aren't cheap.

Here is Parker at mom's house on Christmas Eve. Nan & Pawp got the boys John Deere tractor ride-on toys. They both had a good time trying to figure out how to get on and off of them. Parker loves that it has a steering wheel.

Last week me and Haley swear that Parker said tractor several times. It was just me and the kids at home and of course he hasn't said it again so we will see.

Haley got everything she wanted for Christmas...I think. She really only asked for a few things. A keyboard and a doll. Well Santa brought her a keyboard and mom got her a doll that has clothes that match Haley.

The keyboard is pretty cool b/c it will teach Haley how to play songs by telling her which keys to press. She has really enjoyed it and plays on it everyday.

Haley's big surprise...

First, Let me explain the reasoning behind the surprise. Haley has always had pretty cheap furniture and a mattress with box springs for a bed in her room. She did have everything matching...curtains, bedspread, and table with chair but it wasn't very fancy for a little girl. This never really bothered her until recently. I guess she has been to several of her girly friend's houses and loved their rooms. I felt bad b/c Parker got all new furniture when he was born. So his room is pretty cute. So me and Willie decided we needed to do the same for Haley. She loves surprises and it was part of her Christmas from us so we sent her to my mom & dads for a night so we could completely redo her room. I was so excited...especially shopping for everything and trying to find exactly what I was looking for.

Here are a few pictures. They aren't great b/c I took them with my phone.

Needless to say she loved it! And its girly but something she can use for several years without out growing it quickly. We chose black furniture b/c its really trendy (I think) and again she won't outgrow it before she moves out of our house. So it was worth the money we spent for it. She also got a black desk but I didn't have a picture of it. I had a hard time finding curtians that were a good match so my grandmother made the curtains for us. She did a great job!

She also made Haley a lamp for Christmas that matches.

All of this excitment got Haley really geared up for Christmas the next week!

Ballet

Haley is in ballet this year at Patty Harper and loves it! A few years ago the owner of the studio decided to break away from The Nutcracker and start her own Christmas show. (Once Upon a Christmas Eve). I personally like it a lot better than the Nutcracker b/c its a lot more entertaining. So this year Haley was a penguin in the Once Upon a Christmas Eve production. She was very excited about getting on stage and getting flowers afterwards...LOL. (such a girl)
I new that there would be lots of rehearsals and practices but I don't think I realized how exhausting it was going to be. It was worth it but man am I am tired. There were several days that I didn't get to see my baby boy before he went to bed. There were days that we didn't get home from practice until midnight. It was crazy!!

If you can't tell she has on more make-up than I wear on a daily basis. We were instructed to have bright red lipstick and lots of glitter with bright eyes. Haley was all for it!

I know Haley had lots of fun during this whole process but it wore me completely out not being home everyday and losing so much sleep. Needless to say I got sick the first performance day with a sinus infection (still fighting it) I am sure its from exhaustion.

Haley has informed me that next year she wants to be a snowman (tap dancer) and a penguin! (shoot me now!!)

Breakfast with Santa

Our church has started an annual Breakfast with Santa and so we attended last Saturday. The kids had a really good time. Parker ran around most of the time and Haley enjoyed doing all the crafts they had. They did get a picture with santa but I don't have it loaded yet. However I did take this snapshot of the kids in the hallway.

This is the best picture I have of the kids at the moment. They are both happy and no one is crying! Yay! Parker was pretty parcial to his paci after sitting on santa's lap so I didn't even bother trying to take it out.

Santa came and talked to us while we were eating and Parker did really good but when it came time to sit on his lap he was pretty upset about it.

Carter (my nephew) on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the jolly fellow.

Poor Carter would rather not ask for anything for Christmas...LOL.

Several of the kids at church didn't want their picture made...we will see what next year holds. :)

Playing catch up

We have been overly busy since Halloween so there is so much to catch up on.

November 3rd:
Willie had surgery to remove his gallblader. He had been having a lot of pain for about 2 weeks and couldn't eat anything without being missarable. If you know my husband; he is not a hospital person. He was very nervous about having the procedure done but he did pretty good. Took him a few days to get moving again but he is back to normal pretty much now. Just has to watch what he eats.

November 13th:
We celebrated my grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary in Merkel, TX. We had a good time seeing family and friends.

Thanksgiving:

We had a very busy Thanksgiving. I believe we attended 4 meals...we are done with Turkey till next year! We visited my family, Willie's family and even had Thanksgiving with Willie's work. We ate way too much but had a great time seeing and visiting everyone.

The day after Thanksgiving (blackfriday) me and Elise ventured out at 3am and went shopping. We have done it every year since we could drive...LOL. I don't think we have every left the house that early so we were exhausted the rest of the day for sure. We always make a list of the things we are on a mission to get and schedule of where we will be going. I have to say this year was a little more crowded than I remember it being in several years. Never the less, we got pretty much everything we were wanting. I can't say that there wasn't some pushing and shoving and cuting but thats the name of the game on black friday. I guess thats the whole thrill of going but I saved a lot of money too. I am sure we will be back out there next year.

Trunk-or-Treat

Here are a few pictures from Trunk-or-Treat at church on Oct. 24th. The kids had a really good time and the boys got to eat candy for the 1st time. The boys didn't really know what to think of all the people handing them candy and walking around but I think they liked it.
This year Parker is a puppy, Carter is a skunk, and Haley is a cowgirl for Halloween.

Parker turns 1!

My baby boy turned 1 year on Tuesday Oct. 12th. This year has really flown by and I have enjoyed every minute of having a baby around the house. But he isn't a baby anymore :(
He is pretty much a toddler now.

Here is what he is doing at 12 months:

-walking! all by himself
-shakes his head yes and no
-enjoys playing with cars the most (wonder who he gets that from!)
-weighs 24 lbs 6oz and 31 1/2 inches long
-sleeps about 12 hours at night
-completely off the bottle and formula!
-loves being outside
-waves bye and hi (says bye)
-throws a fit when things don't go his way
-overall a bundle of joy and definately a happy baby

Haley turns 7!

I know its hard to believe but Haley is 7 years old this week. Makes me cry just thinking about it. One: It makes me feel old. Two: I can still remember when she was born and it doesn't seem like 7 years ago.
This past weekend we had Haley's birthday party. We had it at the Southern Hills Church of Christ new playground that was build this summer. It really helped my pocket book and we had a great time. The weather was about 75 degrees so I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. All of the girls from Haley's school class came and most of our family. We had a great time watching the kids run around.
This is the first year that Haley really hasn't asked for much for her birthday...which is a shocker. But it seems like the older they get the harder it is to buy for them. Everyone has been asking me for a month what she needs...which is NOTHING...lol. But she got some really great gifts that she has enjoyed. Here are some pictures from the party.

My little boy is walking!!

11 months old

I know I always say this but....I can not believe my little man is already 11 months old. I mean where has the last year gone? I have tried to soak it up as much as possible... but I have to say that October is right around the corner and he will be 1 and I will be a little sad. Makes me think for a second about having baby #3 but I am not ready to go there yet.

Things Parker is doing at 11 months:

- pulling up on everything and will stand without holding on. (has taken a few steps but still chicken to let go...LOL)
- pretty much done with baby food...he eats whatever we eat most of the time.
- down to 2 bottles a day! (I was dreading this but he is doing it all on his own so I am just following his que)
- does lots of talking (babbling) says mama and dadi (doesn't quite have "sister" down yet)
- he is into throwing things (good & bad)...I guess this is a boy thing b/c I don't remember Haley doing this at this age.
- still loves bath time and takes bathes in the big tub!
- sleeps 11 to 12 hours at night
- loves playing in the bathroom (where he gets in trouble the most)
- still takes a morning and afternoon nap
- wears 12-18 month clothes
- weighs about 23 lbs 11 ozs
- still only has 2 teeth but working on #3

Labor Day Weekend

We had an awesome Labor Day Weekend even though it started out pretty bad. I got off work early on Friday and took Parker to the doctor because miss silvia said he had been screaming all day. Of course he had an ear infection so we got started on an antibiotic and took it easy Friday night. He seemed to feel a little better on Saturday but me and him stayed home and napped while Daddy and Haley went out to the Chili cookoff in Buffalo Gap.

Sunday evening we went out to my mom & dad's for some steak! Couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to have a good meal. We had a great time watching the boys play and chatting.

Monday was Willie's birthday (the big 27) but he had to work for a little while that morning so me and the kids did laundry and cleaned up the house while we waited for him to get off then we loaded up and headed out to Nan & Pawp's farm for some brisket for lunch. The whole family showed up so we had a good time as always.

I did actually get my camera out and play with it a little. I figured out how to change the setting to black in white (only took me 9 months) LOL. I don't have a lot of time to sit and play with it enough to figure out all the unique things it can do but my pictures are looking a little better. Here are a few from the weekend.

1st Grade

I can't believe it but Haley started 1st grade today! She was so excited and has been looking forward to school starting for a few weeks now. I think she enjoyed summer but she loves school so she was ready to go back.

She wanted me to just drop her off this morning like I normally do but I insisted that me and Parker walk her to the door since it was the 1st day. She was ok with that. :)

New discoveries

My little man is discovering and learning new things everyday. I thought I would share some of his recent adventures.

Here we are under the kitchen table which we have found that the chairs can move and lots of things to climb under.

The back door is exciting b/c the dog is outside playing and daddy is mowing and I am pretty sure I want to go swimming.

I recently learned how to turn the TV on and off which gets on everyones nerves when they are trying to watch something.

4th of July weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend. We left Friday night and headed out to Willie's mom's in Throckmorton. Not much to do there but we had a good time seeing Willie's mom and 2 sisters. We got up Saturday and headed to Wichita Falls to go to the water they have there. This is our 2nd time to Castaway Cove and we love it. So much better than going to the big water parks in the metroplex where there are thousands of people. We spent a good 7 hours at the water park on Saturday. We were afraid we would get rained on when we got there but we lucked out and never got a drop while we were there. It was pretty cloudy and a bit windy so it was cold when you first got in the water but it warmed up through the afternoon. Here are some of the pictures I took while we were there.

My little man having a snack break!

Parker did really good at the waterpark for the most part. He didn't really want to play in the water too much which was fine. But he was perfectly happy riding around in the stoller and taking naps on the lawn chairs. He napped several times throughout the day but I figure it was because it was hot and we were outside the whole time.

We spent the night in Wichita Falls and met up with some friends for dinner. Of course Haley was ready to go swimming when we got back to the hotel so we skipped the fire works to go swimming. We headed home Sunday after eating lunch at Chedder's which was really good. We were exhausted we got home but we had Monday to recoop before going back to work on Tuesday.

This is pretty much the only trip we have planned for the summer so I am glad we had a good time and made the most of it.

Haley is leaving next week to go to Great Wolf Lodge with Willie's family so I know she will have blast there...she is a fish!

My little boy is not so little anymore. He is getting harder and harder to lug around but I am enjoying the time he lets me hold him. I know once he starts moving around really good that he won't want all the holding time. :(

I took Parker to get his picture made for his 8 month birthday. I wish I did this more often b/c with Haley I took her every month. (I know I was crazy) It is true what they say that each kid you have; you have fewer pictures. Anyways here are the pictures:

FYI...No Parker can't stand on his own yet but he does really good if you let him hold on.

Things we are doing at 8 months:

* still no teeth but we are trying more chewable foods.

*trying to crawl but haven't actually gone anywhere yet.

*eating about 5 jars of stage 2 baby food a day.

*sleeps very well at night

*takes a sippy cup with juice or water during meals

*4 bottles a day

*morning nap and afternoon nap; bedtime 8pm

*recently started riding in the grocery basket like a big boy!

*sleeps on his tummy now (has also learned how to pull up and stand in the bed so had to lower the crib last weekend)

*newest accomplishment...clapping! I love it...he looks so sweet and cute when he claps his little hands.

Wow, once again I have fallen behind on posting. For a while I really didn't have anything new to post and then life caught up to me...LoL
Things have been wonderful around the Lee household. Both of the kids are getting so big so fast. :(

Haley is almost done with Kindergarten and has told me several times that she isn't ready for 1st grade and wants to stay in Kindergarten. Well she is more than ready and I am sure Mrs. Ratcliff is ready for summer!

Parker is growing like a weed as always. He has started babling which is a lot of fun. I never posted his 6 month stats:

18 lbs 3 oz

26 1/2 inches long

I can't remember how big Haley was at this age but I am pretty sure Parker has her beat!

Mother's Day was amazing this year. Haley's class did a Mother's Tea Party at school one day. We had an awesome time eating cookies and looking at all the new artwork they have done in class. Haley also made me a flower pot and planted flowers in it...really cute! I think she is finally understanding mother's day. Her school also did a mother's day breakfast which was really fun b/c I hadn't gotten to go eat breakfast with her before. Willie has several times and they always have fun. We had a good time sitting with the other kids and their mom's and eating.

I always love when there is a holiday to celebrate...even if its not for me. I enjoy getting to spend extra time with my whole family. This Mother's Day was no exception. The whole family went out to mom and dad's for lunch after Church on Sunday and we had a really good time. Of course my mom is one of the most important people in my life and I could not have celebrated it better than going for a visit.

Me & Elise took the kids out last week to try and get some bluebonnet pictures before they were all gone. Of course none of them wanted their picture made and we spent most of the time trying to keep them from screeming. We managed to get a few pretty good ones.

Easter

We had a very good Easter weekend. I took the kids to the Southern Hills Eggstravaganza on Saturday and Haley really had a good time. It was pretty windy so Parker didn't care much for being outside. Sunday we got all dressed up for church in our matching outfits. The kids looked so cute! I got a new camera for Christmas so I have really been trying hard to learn how to use it and break it in. I really like how the outside pictures turned out but I can never get the lighting right for inside pictures....I will have to play with it some more.
After church the whole family headed to Bell's chicken for lunch. We had a really good time visiting and celebrating my sister, Amber's, birthday. Here are pictures from Easter Sunday!

I am looking forward to next Easter when the boys will be moving around and can hunt for eggs. It will be so much fun when they can start getting into things. But for this year Parker enjoyed sucking on the plastic eggs...LOL

Spring Break

We had a good spring break for the most part. Haley went with my grandmother down to College Station for half of the week. They had a pretty good time but Haley was definately ready to come home. I took off work Friday to spend the day with the kids. We had a really good time. I got lots of stuff done around the house; took them to Burger King to eat and play for lunch; then we went to the zoo; then we went and visited my other grandparents that live here in town. It was a full day but I enjoyed getting to stay home with the kids and have some fun. We don't do that too often so it was nice.
Saturday it was really cold and snowy so we stayed in all day and caught up on the laundry and house work. We had to get the house ready for our floors to be refinished on Monday. It was tricky trying to find a place for everything that was in the living room. I am excited to see how they floors turn out. So far they are just sanded down to the bare wood which already looks so different. I will post pictures when its all done.

5 months!

Parker was 5 months old on March 12th. It blows my mind how fast times is flying by with this child. I want to enjoy every minute of him being little but he isn't so little anymore. I am not sure exactly how much he weighs b/c we don't have a well check up until next month but I am guessing he is pushing 16 lbs.

Here are things he is doing at 5 months!

* rolling over!

* teething like crazy (but no teeth yet)

* eating baby food for lunch and dinner (he is an eater!)

* making lots of noises

* thinks big sister is pretty funny

* sleeping much better...usually only getting up once at night

* taking a bottle every 4-5 hours (7 ozs; he is a big boy!)

* loves going for rides in the stoller and being outside

* wearing mostly 6 month clothes and size 2 shoe

Snow Day!

Yesterday we had a snow day and I stayed home with kids since they cancelled school. I caught up on some things around the house and played with kids most of the day. :) Haley went outside for a while and played in the snow but Parker didn't care for being out in the cold. I am amazed how snowy this winter has been here in Abilene. I don't remember ever getting this much snow in one winter. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures yesterday of Haley in the snow but I did get some last week when it snowed...LOL.

Other than dealing with the weather we haven't been up to much. Kids have been sick off and on with colds but I blame that on the weather too.
Parker is growing like a weed! He is learning and doing more things everyday. He almost rolled over yesterday while he was playing on the floor but he got what he was trying to reach about 1/2 way over so that was enough for him...LOL.

Last weekend Carter came over to play for a little while and we took some good pictures of the boys in their baseball outfits. I thought they looked pretty cute!

Time is Flying by...

I still can't believe how fast my kids are growing up. Haley is almost done with Kindergarten and Parker is learning how to eat out of a spoon! Not to mention me and Willie are getting old...hehe.

Speaking of old...Last week was the 100th day of school so Haley's class dressed up as 100 year old people for that day. It was pretty funny. Here is Haley in her grey hair and glasses.

Parker is not 4 months old so Dr. Wiley says we can start giving him baby food when we want. I thought I would try a veggie 1st that way he wouldn't get spoiled on the sweet fruits. He did okay but got more frustrated than anything. He wanted in his mouth and swallowing as fast as he could. He didn't want to open his mouth and he wanted to suck the spoon...LOL. I did sweet potatoes 1st but I am not sure he liked them too much. We will try bannanas tonight and see how he does with a fruit.

I love getting to experience all this fun stuff again!

4 months old!

I can not believe my little guy is 4 months...I know I keep saying this...but time is going by way too fast with this baby. I am definitely enjoying every minute I can with him. There are some nights that the laundry and dishes go undone just because I want to sit and hold Parker. This could be my last baby so I want to savor every minute.
Well we took Parker to see Dr. Wiley on Monday b/c he has a bad cough and runny nose. The Dr. said he just has a cold and it will pass. I was so thankful that he didn't have RSV or an ear infection. Those were my 2 fears. I was happy. While we were there Dr. Wiley decided to go ahead and do his 4 month well check which we all knows means SHOTS. Parker screamed and he was mad for quite some time. After calming him down Haley got him a sticker and we were on our way. Here are his 4 month stats:

15 lbs 5 oz
24 1/2 inches long

I was anxious to know what he weighted b/c I could tell he had recently gotten heavier. Dr. Wiley said we can start feeding him with a spoon. I haven't tried yet b/c I am waiting for him to get over his nasty cold. I figure its best to try something new when he is 100%.
I did however try store brand formula this week and he hates it...won't even put the bottle in his mouth. So we are back to the good (expensive) stuff. I wanted to try switching for several reason...the main one being that the cost is about half and b/c the FDA says there is no difference in the ingredients and the store brands are just has good as the name brands. (Not in Parkers book) I just thought if I could save money on formula then buying baby food wouldn't really hurt the budget. I am going to try and make most of the baby food on my own this time. With Haley I never even tried but I am little more confident this time around. I will let you know how that works out.

3 months old!

I can't believe my little man is 3 months old already....I feel like I just had him. I look back at pictures and I can't believe how much he has changed and grown.

Here are the things he is up to right now:

Laughing all the time...he is a happy boy!
Talking (cooing) more and more everyday.
Loves to be talked to.
Learning how to play with toys...he hits them but hasn't learned how to grab them yet.
Loves bath time and playing in the water.
Recognizes familiar people....when I pick him up after work he always looks over at Haley's carseat to see where she is.

These first 3 months have been amazing but I wish time would slow down a little...I don't want my baby to grow up! LOL

Merry Christmas!

We woke up Christmas morning to the sound of Parker being hungry...LOL. You would think Haley would have been the 1st one to wake us up but no it was Parker. He could care less about it being Christmas...he just wanted to eat! Well about 10 minutes after Parker got up here came Haley down the hall and she was ready to go in the living room and see what Santa had brought her. So she got Willie out of bed and we headed to the living room.

Haley got a cupcake maker and a cupcake apron to wear while she cooks. (yes this makes real cupcakes that you can eat!)

Parker got a light up stackable toy and an ocean wonders play mat. He loved his new toys and even stayed awake all morning playing. I think he could feel the excitement in the room...

Christmas day was very busy for us. After we saw what santa brought we opened our Christmas presents from one another. Haley opened her gifts as well as Parkers so she got in the spirit real quick! After presents we had breakfast and got packed up and ready to go. We went to grandma and grandpa Hurst's house for lunch with everyone and then headed out to the Throckmorton to see Willie's family. We were a little worried about how the drive would be since not much of anything had melted between Abilene and Throckmorton. We also didn't know if it was worth it to drive all the way there just to have to turn around and come back before dark. We decided to try it and we made it there! The drive wasn't horrible but I don't think I want to do it again. We got back to Abilene about 7:30pm so we decided to go back out to Mom's house for some left over brisket. Nan, Pawp, Joyce and Tommy were all there visiting so we had a good time catching up. The kids were exhausted after such a long day.....me and willie didn't have much energy left either. We all went straight to bed when we got home.

All in all we had a great Christmas; I just hate that it goes by so fast.

Christmas Eve!

Willie had to work on Christmas Eve so I was stuck at home with the kids since there was a blizzard going on outside. Junior dropped off Elise and Carter so they could spend the day with us. Me and Elise played with the boys while Haley was outside playing in the snow. I don't remember it ever snowing like that in Abilene before!

We spent Christmas Eve night at mom and dad's house. It had snowed all day and my parent's electricity kept going out so we weren't sure we were going to get to go but it ended up clearing up a little and we made it out to Merkel. We had a really good time eating brisket and visiting. Dad stood out in the cold snow BBQing...but man was it good!

Well around this time of year I like to get family pictures done. Last year we never did it because I was broke after buying wedding pictures...LOL. The year before (when Haley was 4) we got family pictures done and they turned out really good. I figured since we added a new member to the family this year that we better make it a point to get some pictures made. Willie pretty much hates going to get his picture made but he got over it. The pictures turned out really good although Parker was in a pretty bad mood and wanted to sleep instead of get his picture made. O well...what do you expect from a 2 month old.

I can't believe Christmas is in 2 weeks...we are not ready! I haven't finished all my shopping!

It has been so cold lately that I haven't gone anywhere except home and work. I will have to try and get a lot of it done this weekend since its going to be a little warmer.

Well I wanted to share some of our Christmas pictures that we have taken so far.

Here are the kids at "Breakfast with Santa" at church. Haley had a really good time eating donuts, coloring, and playing with all the kids. I think it was awesome and hope they do it again next year. Parker was awake just enough to get his picture made. I was just glad he was happy at the time.

I finally got the christmas tree put up and Willie got the lights on the house. That is about all I did to decorate this year. I just didn't have the energy to get all the extra stuff out. I still need to make stocking for the kids and christmas ornaments. Here are the kids by the tree after we got it done.

By the way did you notice Haley got all of her hair cut off! I believe it was around 5 inches that we cut. She had been telling us for weeks that she wanted short hair again. I love her hair long but it is a hassle to get done in the morning and she sleeps so crazy that it is all in tangles so she screems and trys to run from me when I fix her hair for school. So while willie was at work we went and got it cut. He didn't want us to cut it but he got over it after a few days...LOL. Anyways...Haley loves her hair short and doesn't mind as much when we have to brush it.

another 1st...

We have gone through many "1st" with Haley and most of them have all been fun and exciting but when your child looses their 1st tooth that truely means they are growing up and they aren't little girls anymore! Haley had been complaining about her tooth being loose and hurting for a few weeks but I honestly didn't think it would every come out ...LOL. I guess I just wasn't ready for that stage to begin. I hated loosing my teeth when I was younger but I know everyone has to go through it. The good thing is...she was so excited when the darn thing actually came out! I am not sure exactly what happened b/c she was at school but she tells me that she was in music class and pulled her tooth. When she told the music teacher she sent her straight to the nurse!

I guess she didn't want to deal with a little blood. Anyways the nurse gave her a little tooth box to put it in so that she could bring it home. When I picked her up from school her face was beaming and I could tell she was excited about something. She told meemaw that it was Amazing that she lost her tooth. Of course we made a big deal about it since it was her 1st tooth to loose. The tooth fairy was very good to her...a little more than I think he(daddy) should have been but she was excited to find a $10 bill under her pillow the next morning.

I am still trying to get this blog caught up to speed!

Well after Parker was born I was blessed to be able to stay home for 7 weeks. I enjoyed every minute of it. I am not a stay at home mother type but when you have a newborn its well worth it. We spent most of our time laying around the house in our PJ's and catching up on sleep that we had missed the night before...LOL. Parker was a night owl for about the first 6 weeks. Eating was more important to him at that time.

When Parker was 2 1/2 weeks old; I became an Aunt! Carter decided he was ready to come into this world on Oct. 30th and was 7lbs 14oz. He was a little guy compared to Parker. I have to say it has been so much fun being an aunt and getting to see one of my sister go through motherhood. It's even more fun that we get to go through it together. We call each other at least once a day to see how the boys are doing and whats going on with them. I can't wait for them to grow up together!

Let me just tell you that my dad (Gampa) was on cloud nine after having 2 little boys in the same room. He is already talking about baseball and teaching them to be lefty's. Meemaw has a pretty big smile on her face too but I know she was exhausted from running between me and Elise those 1st few weeks during recovery. *Did I mention that we both had to have emergency C-sections* Crazy! Both of us went into the hospital thinking natural labor thoughts and coming home with scares. But we both had fast recoverys which was a blessing.

So far we have only had 1 holiday with both babies around which was Thanksgiving. We had a blast passing around the boys and taking pictures. I can't wait till this time next year when they will be playing on the floor together!

After Thanksgiving we decided to get all the kids pictures made for Christmas. I knew taking 3 kids to get 1 picture was going to be a chore but I don't think we realized what we had signed ourselves up for...LOL. Needless to say we were at the portrait studio for over 3 hours. It was one thing after another if you know what I mean. Thank goodness the pictures turned out great...here are a few of my favs!

It's been a while!

I know....I am a horrible blogger! I realize I have not updated this thing since the first of October. How can you blame me...things have been quite busy for us. I am sure everyone has already heard my life story about what has been going on the last 2 months but I will humor you anyways.

Parker Ryan Lee was born on Oct. 12th @ 5:30pm. He weighted 9 lbs. 1oz. and 21 3/4 inches long. I ended up having to have a c-section because Parker decided he was not ready to be in this world yet. Everything turned out great and there were no other complications. Recovery was a lot faster than I expected.

I took off of work for about 7 weeks maternity leave. I loved being at home but still didn't get too much done everyday. Parker likes to eat so we didn't sleep much in the beginning. There were very few days that I was out of my Pajamas before noon. Willie got to stay home with us for the week so that was nice that we got to spend that time together with our little man. I have to say Willie is crazy about the little guy...can't keep his hands off of him! LOL. Having to deal with 2 kids has been a lot harder than I thought it would be but well worth every minute. Parker has been such a blessing to our family and we are loving every minute of having a baby to take care of.

Haley's Birthday!

Saturday afternoon was Haley's surprise party...I was not at all organized this year. Usually I have everything ready weeks before hand...I guess I thought there would be a chance we wouldn't get to have it if the baby decided to come. Everything turned out great though. Mom helped me get everything ready and everyone showed up before Willie brought Haley home. She was so surprised and even a little embarrassed...LOL

Haley's actually birth day is Oct. 7th (Wednesday) so I plan on taking the afternoon off work and us hanging out and doing some girly stuff...Haley keeps asking me how many more days until we get to go have our toes done. She is exited and I am too! This might be our last girly time with out mr. Parker for a while.

Speaking of Parker...he has decided he isn't ready to be born yet. I went to the doctor today and I still have not dilated at all. The doctor says Parker is pretty comfortable where he is and hasn't even dropped enough for him to induce. I will be going back to the doctor on Thursday to see if anything has changed. We will decide then if he will induce on Monday as planned or hold off. So looks like I will be walking and doing whatever I can for the next 3 days so that something will happen otherwise I am stuck being pregnant for who knows how long. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens...

This last weekend the church threw me a baby shower. It was awesome! The girls did such a great job hosting and we got lots of really good stuff for Mr. Parker. It was great being able to visit with all the girls one last time before I have the baby.

After having the shower and getting all the last minute things we needed before the baby comes. I have to say I am definately ready now. I am just in waiting mode. I am getting bigger everyday which makes me even more ready to not be pregnant anymore...

If you are wondering how big I am now...here you go...37 weeks prego (with the grandma's)

We are currently going to the doctor every Monday morning to see how things are going. This week I am measuring 1 week ahead of schedule (which means Parker is big) but unfortunately have not dilated any at this point. Dr. says everything looks good and that I need to start thinking dilated thoughts...(my response) I have been thinking that way for a month now...LOL.

Anyways we will see what happens when we go back on the 5th.

In the mean time....Haley's birthday is right around the corner which stresses me out a little bit b/c the baby could come any day now and I am worrying about her birthday and how all that will pan out. We decided the best way to handle the situation was to have a surprise birthday for Haley that way if something happened and we had to cancel her party...she would never now the difference and would not get her feelings hurt. She is getting excited because she knows she will be 6 next week...Willie keeps asking her what she wants for her birthday and her response is always the same...she wants to go shopping for new clothes (just like her mom!)

Her birthday also happens to fall on a day that school gets out early...so I have promised her that I would pick her up early and we would go get out nails and toes done together; she is looking forward to this because I usually don't take her with me when I go. Hopefully we will still get to do that too.

A lot of people have asked me if I am still working....Yes. I really don't see the point in sitting home all day when I can go to work and sit at my desk and get paid. I would rather take more time off after the baby is here then use all the time before. On that note; I better get back to work!

Well at 35 weeks I am huge!...Here is the most recent picture of me. I hate the picture but at least you can see how big Parker is.

We had a busy weekend getting ready for Elise's baby shower and trying to get the house somewhat organized. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to but at this point that is happening a lot. Elise's shower turned out great...she got a lot of really good stuff and we had a good turnout dispite the rain.

If you can't tell...Carter is going to be a little cowboy!

Well we go back to the doctor on Monday so I will let everyone know how that goes...I hope I have done something!

Yes thats right....still no baby. I have to say I am ready though. Everything isn't completely done around the house but enough that I am comfortable bringing a baby home. I am pretty much to the point where I am tired of being pregnant but I know the longer I carry him the healther he will be so for now he is still cooking.

We are just about done with the nursery except the wall hangings. Here are a few pics:

Haley is still doing really well in school, which is a relief. She loves her teacher and seems to really like all the daily activities they do. I just hope this continues for the rest of the school year. I am a little worried about how she will react after Parker is here and her still having to go to school but we will see how that goes.

Not much else going on. I have been doing a lot of relaxing and laying around the house. I am still working and I plan to keep working until I have the baby.

Thats all I have for now...We go back to the doctor on the 21st to see if anything has changed.

Well needless to say we did not get the nursery done this weekend. So I don't have pictures of that yet. Willie played golf all weekend and me Haley shopped for some last minute things for school.

Yesterday was the 1st day of school and we did great! Haley was excited and nervous all at the same time. I was excited and a little scared to be honest. I guess thats just how it its when you leave your child at a new place with people you really don't know. I did really good until I got to the car then I cried all the way to work...I kept looking at the clock all day wondering what Haley was doing and hoping she was having a good time.
I got to the school to pick her up when I got off and she was looking out the window waving and laughing. She talked the whole way home telling me all about her day and what she did. She was exhausted though...by 7:15 she was asleep on the couch.

In other news... we went to the baby doctor yesterday and everything still looks about the same. I am measuring a few days ahead of schedule but that is pretty normal. Dr. Tadvick says little Parker will most likely be about 8.5 lbs or possible 9lbs. That made me a little nervous to think about delivering a baby bigger than Haley was but he said it will not be near as bad as it was last time and that my body can handle it. (I am so glad he is so sure of himself and me!) We did go ahead and set an induce date for Oct. 12th which is only a week early so he could possible arrive sooner on his own...we will see. I am hoping for sooner than later!

I definately have to say that I am in the nesting stage now. I find myself going in the nursery at least once a day just checking everything out and moving things around. My rocker will be put together this weekend so I have feeling I will be in there a lot more often after I have a good place to sit.

Next doctor visit is Monday!

On a side note:

Haley starts Kindergarten on Monday. We are all ready I think but I can't say I won't have a melt down on my way to work after dropping her off. It doesn't take much with all these hormones!

7 months!

Well things are coming right along. We are now 7 months pregnant and I can finally see the end in sight. I started my 2 week doctor appointments yesturday. Everything went good and the baby is measuring right where he is suppose to. We did talk about when we might induce if the baby doesn't come sooner. With Haley being so big, I told him I didn't want to wait as long b/c I didn't think I could deliver a 9 lb baby. So he said we could do it whenever I wanted. We are looking to induce around the 12th or 13th of Oct. That is only about 10 weeks away! I am ready to say the least. I am not sure Willie is quite ready yet...He told me that the 20th (our due date) was good for him. I guess he didn't think the doctor would give me the option of delivering early...LOL. We still have lots to around the house to get ready for the baby but we are getting there. Me & Willie will be going to the birth class @ the hospital this Saturday. I don't think Willie is too excited about it but it will be good for us. I went to a class last week by myself and I was amazed by how much has changed in the 6 years since I had Haley so I was glad I went.

We have also been getting Haley ready to start Kindergarten in about a month. We got all her school supplies and a new backpack so all we have to do now is register which is in a few weeks. I think she is getting excited. I am excited b/c I know she will love it.

Well the nursery is coming along...slowly but surely. Willie got the changing table/ dressor put together this weekend. That was a chore...it took us about 3 hours but we did it. I have started cleaning out the closet which is full of mine and willie's stuff. I almost done, just a few more boxes. I don't have any pictures yet of the changing table but I wanted to share what the bedding looks like that we have picked out. It took us a long time to find the one we both liked. We didn't want to do blue b/c Willie is not a big fan of baby blue which is hard when you are having a boy. We originally wanted to do something with red but everything had a theme which we didn't want to do either.

Well we got a lot of stuff done this weekend! I am so glad too because I was starting to stress out about not getting stuff done in a timely manner before the baby gets here.

First of all we have finally decided on a name: PARKER RYAN LEE

Willie made the final decision on the name, at this point I didn't care what name he picked I just wanted a name...LOL

Well I guess Willie finally realized that we don't have much longer until the little guy will be here so we needed to get to work around the house preparing and making room. Thursday and Friday we moved everything that was in the nursery out and found new places for everything around the house. Saturday Willie painted the nursery while I cleaned the floors. On Sunday he put the crib together. All that is left to put together (that we have) is the changing table. I am just so excited that I actually have a place to put baby stuff now instead of throwing everything in a pile.

I still have to get my clothes out of the closet in the nursery but other than that we are good to go!

6 months update

Wow, its been a long time since I have posted...sorry about that. There really hasn't been much to update. We haven't really been doing much just enjoying our hot summer. We haven't quite started on the nursery yet. We have paint and most all of the furniture just waiting to get everything out of the room which is hard b/c we have to find another place to put it.

We still haven't picked out a name for our little guy. We have a few that we really like but Willie is going to make the final decision and he has yet to decide. So I will let everyone know when that happens.

Sorry its been a while since the last time I posted an update but we have been going non-stop and staying busy. I don't have any new belly pictures to share....but I have a few pictures from Amber's graduation celebration.

The next few weeks will be pretty busy for us. Next week we will hopefully find out the sex of the baby! We are very excited and can't wait. Next weekend is Amber's graduation so I am sure there will be lots of family things going on. The week after that Haley will be starting summer camp @ the YMCA. Which she has done for the last few years. We are excited because she will be with the school age kids this summer which means they will get to do a lot more. We will also be starting a new swim class in June. Actually Haley will be starting a new swim class, I have not been brave enough to swim since I got pregnant but I have been told it is a good exercise during prenancy...I just can't imagine my self pregnant in a swim suit...not pretty!

Anyways, I will definately post an update after our doctor's appointment next Wednesday. We are taking Haley with us to the sonogram so that should be interesting. She always has lots of questions to ask...LOL

Just wanted to give everyone a little update...I went to the doctor this morning. Everything looks good and I should be able to feel the baby any day now so I am looking forward to that. I felt the baby move a few weeks ago but not since then so I was a little worried but the doctor put all my fears to rest. I heard the heartbeat so I know everything is going well.
We will have our sonogram on June 3rd (3 weeks, but I am not counting...LOL) to see what the baby is and believe me...I am not leaving the doctors office until they can tell me what the sex is.

Since I got pregnant, I signed up to receive emails weekly about how the baby is growing each month. I was reading my email today and I thought I would share a few cute and funny things our little one is up to right now:

Your baby is almost certainly listening up by now. In fact, loud noises — the dog barking, the doorbell ringing — will actually startle your baby (and also get him or her used to such noises; for instance, fetuses who regularly hear a dog barking will become babies who sleep right through Fido's outbursts).

I am a little relieved to hear this...LOL. It is comforting to know that the baby will be use to Haley's screeming, loud singing, and continuous questions!

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while. There really hasn't been much to update on...just going through the motions of everyday life. I did manage to get a 4 month picture taken. You will have to excuse the look on my face. Willie was working in the yard the night I took the picture so I thought Haley could probably handle taking a picture for me but needless to say it took about 5 tries just to get this one.

To be honest I don't think my stomach has gotten any bigger but I think I may be a little wider.

Well we have been shopping around on Craigslist for some good buys lateley; I usually stay in the baby & kids site, Willie tends to wonder off into the electronics site or motor vehicles. He found a mini motorcycle in town for $25 so he immediately called the guy and asked when he could pick it up. (Knowing we don't need one!)

Anyhow, Haley thought it was pretty cute and wanted to try it out so here are some pictures from that venture.

I have been saying I am going to post a picture of my belly so here you go. It isn't the best picture I have taken lately...LOL. This is after a Sunday afternoon nap.
We had a check up appointment Tuesday...Willie didn't get to go b/c he had already been out of work on Monday for Jury duty. Mom went with me and we got to hear the heart beat and of course see how much weight I had gained. (We won't go into that.) Doctor says everything looks good.
As most of you know, my sister (Elise) is also expecting; her first little one. She had her first appointment yesturday and got some pictures. Good news is....there is only 1 baby in there! She is due Nov. 13th so we are only 3 weeks apart. I think it is going to be crazy with 2 newborns around during the holidays but I am excited that our kids will grow up close. By the way, Mom thinks we are both having boys so we will see. (There are no boys on our side of the family).

Every few years my birthday falls on Easter Sunday so we usually celebrate a little early. This year the whole family went to Abuelo's. We also celebrated my sister's birthday (Amber) and my grandma's birthday. We all 3 have birthdays within a 2 week span in April so we usually celebrate together; especially as we get older.
Amber turned the big 18 this year. I turned 25 ( can't believe I am that much closer to 30). Nan turned 65.

We didn't do anything too exciting for Easter this year. Amber took Haley to the church easter egg hunt out by the zoo on Saturday. Sunday we went to church and afterwards went to Grandma Hurst's house for lunch. We always eat way too much when we go over there so of course I had to go home and recover with a nap. By the time I got up it was already late afternoon so we just did a few loads of laundry and went to bed.

Bathroom remodel

As I mentioned last week, we got our bathtub surround re-tiled. I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. The one thing we didn't like about this house when we bought it was that the bathroom needed to be updated. It wasn't horrible but no one really likes the little 4 inch tiles everywhere in their bathroom.

Willie has been working everyday on getting Haley's new room ready. Poor guy has so many projects to do. I think he enjoys them but he is so tired at the end of the day. I was informed yesturday that we are ready for paint so we will be going tonight to look for a good color. I am a little nervous; Haley is wanting pink and of course me and Willie are not excited about that color on the wall. I am hoping I can talk her into a more modern color like tan...LOL.

We will see what happens.

Well I haven't posted anything in about a week so I figured I better write something. Not much has been going on around here. I am still experiencing morning sickness just about everyday and I am hoping in a few weeks that will be gone. I do plan to share some belly pictures at the end of this month so check back for those.
Haley is doing well and is getting more excited about having the baby. She comes up with a new question everyday. She wants a sister but says she will settle for a brother. I don't think she will care either way when the baby actually arrives.
We are hoping to start working on Haley's new room and the nursery in the next few months. I feel like we have so much to do so the sooner we start the better. Haley's room will become the nursery b/c its next to our bedroom and Haley will be moving where the office currently is. I figure this is best because Haley will be in school when the baby comes and I would hate for her not to get the sleep she needs. She is excited about having a new room and getting to paint and decorate.
Our current house project is the bathroom. I am so excited that we are finally getting the bathtub re-tiled next week. I will post pics after that is all done. I can't wait!

Doctor's appointment

This morning we had our first doctor's appointment for the baby. We got to have a sonogram to see how everything was going. The doctor said that everything looked good with the baby and our official due date is October 20th. We will get to find out the sex of the baby on June 3rd so I am looking forward to that day.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Wow it has been a long time since I have updated this thing...sorry about that. Me & Willie have been so sick with this virus that is going around but I think we are finally over it. Willie spent about a week in the bed and I even had to drive him to the hospital once. I got sick the day he went back to work. So it has been a whirlwind around our house. We are glad that Haley never caught the virus...thank goodness b/c it is so much harder on kids. Although I did think at one point that I felt like dying...but I learned its okay to just stay in bed and rest. Of course I could not have made it through the sickness without my mom taking me to the doctor, willie taking care of me and Haley, and my sister amber making countless trips to Walgreens for me.
Other than being sick there hasn't been much else going on around our house. Now we are just trying to get the house put back together after 2 weeks of neglect.
The doctor says the baby has no clue that I was ever sick so things should still be right on track. I am getting pretty excited about our first appointment on the 18th. I can't wait to get our first sonogram picture and make sure that everything looks good.

Morning sickness

Well I have only known for almost a week that I am pregnant and now I am starting to feel all of the effects. Of course the bathroom trips are getting more frequent which I don't mind so much but the morning sickness is killing me. I wasn't sick at all with Haley so this is already a totally different pregnancy. I have felt sick to my stomach for about the past 3 days. I am thankful that I haven't actually thrown up and I hope it never comes to that. I just hope that it passes soon.
Needless to say I haven't been to motivated to do much around the house either. I managed to get 1 load of laundry done last night but other than that the couch has been calling my name. I can tell its going to be a long 9 months...I forgot to wash Willie's work clothes on Monday night and he had to go to work on Tuesday with no uniform on. I just layed in bed and prayed that he wouldn't get in trouble at work. I asked him that night if anyone said anything at work...he told everyone he thought it was casual Friday.

Our big news...

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!

We found out last week that we will be expecting another little one around the end of October. I will have my first doctor's appointment on March 18th...so I am praying everything looks good when we go in. We are all very excited. Everyone has been asking me how Haley is reacting....she doesn't believe us...LOL. She hasn't said too much about it but she was excited when we first told her. I think she will be more excited when their is proof...(when I start looking pregnant).
As for me, I am overly excited of course. I feel good for the most part. A little sick in the morning but nothing I can't handle. I am always hungry. I am trying to get use to the frequent trips the bathroom.
Willie is excited and a little shocked I guess. I think, he thought it would take a little longer to get pregnant than it did. But we were both smiling ear to ear when we looked at the test.

We had a very good weekend. Friday night my mom took Haley to see the "High School Musical" play @ Cooper and then Haley stayed the night with them. Meanwhile, me and willie enjoyed a quite movie on the couch.(doesn't happen often). Saturday, me and willie enjoyed sleeping in a little. We spent most of the afternoon in the back yard picking up leaves. We have been meaning to do this for some time now but just haven't gotten around to it.
After all our hard work, we decided to go out for dinner and Willie even decided he would take us to the movies.
We saw "Mall Cop"...it was a very funny movie. I recommed it to anyone needing a good laugh. Needless to say that was the first time we had been to the movies in about 3 years. (We prefer the comfort of the couch).

Sunday we relaxed around the house and got some laudry done. Willie made an awesome dinner; grilled chicken on the grill with baked potatoes. After filling up our tummy's we hit the sack early; everyone was asleep by 9:15pm.

Tonight is BUNCO. I am always excited about spending time with the girls from church so I am pretty pumped!

Weekend full of get-togethers!

Nothin new on the home-front this week. We had a busy weekend. Saturday at lunch we went over to Grandma's house for a BBQ for grandpa's birthday. That night we went over to Beth & Kevin's (our good friends) to watch the big UFC fight and do some grilling. We had a good time. I always love any girl time I can get in with Beth & Becky since the only time we really see each other is at get togethers. Becky brought her little boy Gavin so Haley had someone to play with. They had a good time chasing each other round. Of course the guys had a good time eating and watching the fight while us girls caught up on each other live's.
Sunday, we spent most of the day cleaning. Willie is determined to get all the closets in the house cleaned out, so he worked on that most of the day. We went over to one of willie's co-worker's house to watch the big Super Bowl game. I think everyone over there was going for the Cardinals, even Willie. I wasn't really going for anyone...just enjoyed the game. There were several other kids there so once again Haley had a good time running all of her energy out. She hit the pillow that night and was out like a light.
Yesturday I took Tux (our dog) to the vet. He needed to get a shot and of course I was chosen to take him. It actually went quite well this time because I didn't have Haley with me. She is so protective of animals....she thinks something bad is going to happen if we take the dog to the vet. Besides that, I can't hardly control an excited 5 year old and a hyper dog in the car during 5 o'clock traffic. So I told willie I would take the dog and he could pick Haley up from school. Worked out well!

Snow Day

Well the YMCA opened on time today so me and Haley got up and got ready to head out. I made it to work safely and only 30 minutes late. I decided I would just go ahead and work through lunch because I didn't feel the need to get out on the icy roads if I didn't have to. about 12:15pm my cell phone rang as I was enjoying my peanut butter sandwich, it was the YMCA letting me know that I needed to pick up Haley by 1:30pm because they would be closing for the day. Good thing I worked through lunch to get a little extra time in. I headed out about 1:15pm back on the icy roads to retrieve Haley and home for the day.
Willie showed up about 2:00, he didn't have much to do at work and so he decided to come home and spend the afternoon with us. I got a lot done around the house: laundry, dishes, and some much needed rest.
The weather is still getting worse around here so I am thinking we will get a late start tomorrow. I am not going to complain about sleeping in on a Wednesday.
Tomorrow night we are planning to go to Baird to see Willie's brother and sister for dinner. I am hoping all the roads are clear by then otherwise I don't think we will go.

4 wonderful years and counting

Well yesturday was January 25th, I know it is just another day to most people but to me it is quite important. Four years ago at this time is when me and Willie became an item. It seems like so long ago...I can hardly remember some of our best memories together (that is what happens after you have a child). The past 4 years have been amazing and we have learned a lot about each other and grown closer. Eventhough it is not our official anniversary of the day we got married, I will always remember this day as one of the best days of my life. I can't imagine what my life would be like without Willie by my side. Me & Haley truely are blessed that God put him in our lives. (Who else would spoil us the way he does).

On another note...the weather is suppose to start getting pretty nasty around here so I hope everyone stays safe and has a good week!

A new lifestyle...

I guess Tuesday is going to be my posting day since it always seems to get done on that day.
We had a good weekend. I got a lot of stuff done around the house; laundry, floors, dusting, dishes, and more laundry. Sunday after church we went out to mom and dad's for lunch. They made beans, brisket and cornbread...it was really good. Haley enjoyed getting to go out to memaw and gampa's house and run around. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so she can go out there and run around outside.
Yesturday seemed like a long Monday which most of them are. I did however manage to go work out after work. Something I have wanting to get back into the habit of doing. I haven't been to the gym since Thanksgiving because the holidays were so crazy and we had something to do every night. Well I am making it a point to get back into the habit especially since I gained a few pounds during all those Christmas dinners. I felt great after my work out and I managed to go all day without a coke (that is a miracle) but I am working really hard to change those sort of things. As we speak (or type) I am having my daily cup of orange juice, which I also started yesturday. I have to force myself to drink it but I am hoping to get some sort of nutritial value out of it.
Well I am planning on another good work out today. I will try to hurry home afterwards and fix dinner because I am wanting to watch the inauguration events on TV.

We live a blessed life...

Things have been pretty quite around here for the most part. We had a pretty good weekend. Friday night Haley had one of her friends from school spend the night. (this was her first sleepover with a friend). It was an experience for me and Willie for sure. Haley & Paige have known each other since they were about 2 years old. They reminded me exactly how me and my sister acted at that age. We fought about everything and got along when we found something fun to get into. By the end of the night I think Willie said that would be the last sleepover at his house...LOL. We made it through the night and took Paige back home the next morning.

Saturday we drove to Albany for Willie's aunt's funeral. It was one of the easiest funeral's for me and one of the worst. I say it was easy because I didn't really know her. I had only met her once last year. If you know me well, you know that I am a very emotional person and funerals are very hard for me to get through. But this was one of the longest funerals I had ever been to. She was so young (54) and died of cancer which she had been diagnosed with recently. She had a big part in Willie's life when he was young so I am glad that we went because we don't spend much time with Willie's dad's side of the family. I got to meet a lot of people and Willie got to see a lot of family he hasn't seen in years. I hate that funerals are the only time we get to see some of our distant family but I know how crazy life is. We spent pretty much the whole day in Albany just visiting with Willie's relatives. I also got to see the house that Willie grew up in when he was little.
After we left Albany we headed up north to Throckmorton for dinner with Willie's mom and all the kids. It was Brianna's (willie's little sister) birthday so we had dinner at one of the resturants there in town and some cake. Dinner was great, you don't get that kind of home cooking at any Abilene resturant. We were overly stuffed afterwards but we headed home after that.

Sunday we spent the day cleaning, resting, and even attended a few open houses.

We had an awesome New Years. We went over to our good friend's house,the Denman's. They had about 6 couples that came over and we chatted, played catch-up on each other's lives, ate a little, drank a little and popped a bottle of champagne as we watched the ball drop at midnight. Christmas in New Mexico

As most of you know we went to Ruidoso, NM for the week of Christmas with Willie's family. We left last monday and came back on saturday. We had an amazing time while we were there and even got to see some snow. I am sorry that I did not get to post any while we were there. I was told we would have internet service but I could never get it to work. I am sure most you are wanting to see pictures but I haven't gotten a chance to get them all downloaded yet. I am hoping to do that by the end of the week. Just wanted to let everyone know that we made it back and that we had a great time. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

(a word that I deal with a lot at work) Sorry I am a little over-due on an update. Unfortunately, I don't have any new pictures to share simply because I have not had time to load any onto the computer. We have beening running crazy all week trying to get laundry done, pack, and finish our Christmas shopping.
Of course we have a fun filled weekend before we leave for Ruidosa on Monday so we are trying to get as much stuff done every night as we can. Tomorrow is Dad's birthday so we are having lunch @ grandma & grandpa Hurst's house. It should be fun, I have been telling Haley all week that gampa's birthday is on Saturday so she has been practicing her "Happy Birthday" song.
I have been coming to work about an hour earlier the last few days to get some things done before I will be out all next week. Haley has had a hard time waking up @ 6:30am but she is getting better. This morning we stopped and got donuts for her class and on the way to school we sang "Rudolph the red nose reindeer". It was a little early for me to be singing but we made it through the whole song.
Well I am sure I will not have time to post any more this weekend but I am taking the laptop with us to New Mexico. So I will try to post at least a few times while we are there. Just to let you know we are still alive and haven't broken any bones...LOL.

Last night Haley had her first ever school program. She is in pre-school at the YMCA and loves it. They had a Christmas program last night for all the families to come and see all the kiddos sing christmas songs. Haley loves singing so she has been excited about this all week. She has been coming home for a while now singing a different tune everyday. She has even learned a lot of the songs the bigger kids sang too. I am guessing she will be a choir person but we will have to wait and see.
Not much going on in around here, trying to finish up Christmas shopping and I hope to start packing this weekend for our trip. (As most of you know we will be going to Ruidosa, NM with Willie's family Dec 22nd through the 26th or 27th.) I feel like we have so much to do before we leave so I better get started.

for Christmas that is. This last weekend Willie got on the house and put the lights up. I worked on the bushes and tree. It was so night outside on Saturday that we spent most of the day outside doing things around the house. The lights took a few hours but we got it done.

I have had the Christmas tree up for about a week or so now but I finally managed to get some rapping done before Haley found anything hidden in the closet. I still have some shopping to do but I am getting close to being done. It is hard to believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away. We are excited and ready for Vacation!

We have already had a crazy week and its only Wednesday. Just goes to show you how things are around the Lee house. Monday went fairly well except when it was bed time. Haley has been have sinuses really bad and she up all night coughing. Of course being a mom, I can't sleep through that. Tuesday we got and made an appointment to see Dr. Wiley because I couldn't stand to be up for another night. The doctor said she just had bad sinuses and that everything else looked and sounded good. We got some meds and today Haley is a happy child. But still no sleep for mom. Willie was up all night with a bad tooth-ake and we couldn't get in to see the dentist until today. We have gone to the dentist and gotten meds for him and he drove to Throckmorton to get a shot for the pain (from his step-dad). I am really hoping that I get to sleep tonight because I am not sure that I will make it a day longer.
Well enough about my drag of a week.
Me, mom, amber, & Haley went to the Christmas parade last night. We didn't think it was as good this year but never the less Haley enjoyed dancing to the beat of the bands, watching the cheerleaders and seeing a few santa's.
Hopefully things will start to look up the rest of the week.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and somewhat of a vacation. We were off of work for 4 days so that is amazing for us to have that kind of time off. However going back to our routine today was a little bit of a challange. Me & Haley took a while to role out of bed but we made just on time today.
Eventhough we had 4 days off from work we had quite a busy schedule seeing family and getting things done in between. It doesn't seem like we were home at all this weekend.
Thursday we went to grandma Hurst's house. We had a big turn-out with 23 people. We squeezed together and all had a good time catching up. The rest of the afternoon we read the paper and made a game plan for the next morning. I haven't missed a Day-After-Thanksgiving sale in about 6 years. Me and Elise were scheduled to be the shoppers this year. Mom lives a little too far out to drive to Abilene in the middle of the night and she volunteered to keep Haley for the night. Amber had to be at work @ 8am at Target so she didn't want to get up early. I ventured out of the bed around 3:45AM on Friday and headed to Wal-mart to meet Elise. (she had been there since 1:30am after she got off work). So we got everything on our list and even a few extra things we couldn't live without. I am proud to say that I am about 85% done with my christmas shopping and I even saved quite a bit of money.
Eventhough I got up so early on Friday, After all the shopping was done we loaded up and went to Throckmorton to have Thanksgiving with Willie's family. We decided to have Mexican food this year because we knew we would be all Turkey'ed out from the day before. It was such a good idea and we are thinking about doing that again next year.

Saturday was more Turkey and Dressing at my mom's new house in the country for lunch. Haley was excited about going out and playing with the kitty. After Saturday I was pretty much done looking at food. We spent the rest of the weekend cleaning house and resting up for Monday.

He is coming home!

We got a call last night from Willie's mom. Jim will be flying into Dallas sometime today. We aren't sure when or who is suppose to pick him up at the airport but we are hoping to get to see him either tonight or tomorrow sometime. Everyone is really excited about him coming home...it has been a long wait. I am sure Amy (his wife) and the kids will be on edge all day today waiting for him to arrive. Good thing the kids don't have school tomorrow or the rest of the week. Perfect timing for him to be coming home.

As for us, not much new going on. We have done a few small projects around the house and we are making room for Christmas decor. Haley is a little antsy about getting the christmas lights put up so we have been shopping around for those and hope to have them put up by the end of the week. Its hard to get stuff done outside when it gets dark at 6pm everyday. I will post pictures of the house decorated as soon as I am done. We have a busy week ahead of us with all the Thanksgiving visits and of course shopping on Friday!

Christmas in November

We didn't actually attend the "Christmas in November" but we did get to see Santa a little early this year. Sears had a family and friends night Sunday night and they had all kinds of stuff going on. We were just going to check out the sales but we ended up having cake, popcorn, punch, and even got to see Santa. Haley was excited because she has had a list in her head about a mile long of things she wants for Christmas. Everytime she tells me she wants something I tell her that she needs to ask Santa. Needless to say Haley held up the line to see Santa because she had to try and remember everything she wants. LOL. He was a little overwhelmed but told her to be good and he would see what he could do.

We got mom and dad all moved in to the new house. They still have a lot of boxes to unpack but at least they have everything there. It took us a good 2 days to get most everything from Abilene out to the farm. I took lots of pics:

Skating

Haley got the opportunity to go skating this weekend for the first time at one of her friend's birthday party. We have never taken her because we really didn't think she could do it and she never really had an interest to try. I was a little nervous to see how she would do. But as you can see from the pictures she had a good time and did pretty well for her first time.

Things have been going good around the Lee household. We have been doing some yard work to get ready for the winter and trying to keep the leaves to a minimum. Hopefully we will not have to mow the yard again until the spring but the leaf blowing will continue. We have also updated a few things in the house like light fixtures and we removed a few doors that I didn't think needed to be there. I love we have done so far but we still have our work cut out for us. This weekend we are hoping to do some work in the bathroom replacing a few tiles and putting some new graut on the floor. Our next big project will be making a laundry room out of the back porch. I am very excited and wish we would have done this a long time ago. We probably won't start that until January with all the Holidays coming up. Things will start getting crazy in about 2 weeks...trying to figure out which family to visit next. I am excited though...I love the holidays.
Willie talked to our Realtor today and he is very excited about getting our house on the market and wants to come visit in about 3 months to do some paperwork. This made my day! Three months will be here in no time and I am so excited. I love the house we are in but I feel like it is holding us back. I am so excited to look for a new and bigger home. I just hope it isn't as stressful as last time but I think we have found a realtor that will really make this go around a little easier.
Meanwhile, Mom and Dad's house is pretty much finished. They are excited about moving in this weekend so we will be there to help them in any way we can. I am extremely excited for them but sad that they are not down the street anymore. So their house will be up for sale soon if you know anyone looking for a good family home.

Tea Party

On Saturday, the church hosted a mother / daughter tea party. Me, Haley, Nan and Amber all loaded up and drove out to Tuscola for it. Mom wanted to come but she was very sick so we left her at home. Here are some pictures from the Tea. We had a good time eating cookies and drinking out of our little tea cups. We also made bracelets. Hope they start making this an annual event.

I know I am a little behind but I am trying to catch this thing up.
For Halloween we decided to trick-or-treat our neighborhood then go over to mom's house and go through her block. I figured by then Haley would be tuckered out. Willie decided he needed to take a nap after dinner so me and Haley ventured out on our own down a few blocks and back. When we got back to the house willie was waiting for us in the drive way ready to leave. Went to mom's and trick or treated around the few houses there but Haley seemed more interested in handing out candy at Memaw's house so we did until about 9:30 when the doorbell stopped ringing.

Trunk-or-Treat

Wow, I didn't realize I haven't written anything on here in a week. There really hasn't been too much going on with us. Last weekend the whole family got together for Elise & Pawp's Birthday. Their birthday's are both on Oct. 28th. We all went out to Perini's Sunday night for dinner and cake. It was my first time out to the ranch and Willie hadn't been out there in a very long time so we were excited. The food was pretty good but I am not sure it is worth the drive for us. We all had a good time and I think they had pretty good birthday.
Wednesday night at church we had the annual Trunk or Treat. Haley has been looking forward to this all week and she was so excited that she was finally going to get to dress up. She had such a good time handing out candy and seeing all the costumes. I was surprised she wasn't too much into eating the candy. I think she ate one piece the whole night. Here is a picture of Haley with her beautiful Belle dress on. This is about the only good pic I got of her the whole night. I will take more on Halloween.

Willie's brother

As most of you know, Willie's brother (Jim) left for Army boot camp 2 weeks ago. Last week his mom got a letter from Jim that said things in Georgia are very rough and he was having a hard time adjusting to the lifestyle of a solider. They are not allowed very much contact with family and friends while they are in boot camp so we haven't heard much about his experience.
Last night we got a call from Willie's mom that Jim was being relieved of his duties and would be home in 2 to 4 weeks. We were very shocked to hear this because they told us he wouldn't come home until Christmas. Turns out Jim messed his knee really bad at boot camp and he is in the Army hospital there in Georgia. He tore a bunch of ligaments and his knee cap is all messed up. Willie said he has always had knee problems since he played football in grade school so this was not much of a surprise. Evidently it is bad enough that he will have to have surgery once he gets home. They said it would take 2 to 4 weeks to get him processed for release. I think Jim is definitely ready to come home, I don't think he knew what he was getting him self into until it was too late. I think he will still come home a changed man because of what he has endured the last 2 weeks. From what I have heard it is the worst boot camp to get sent to. I think his family is relieved that he will not have to go to Iraq and spare his life.
I told Willie last night that everything happens for a reason and obviously God didn't think the Army was for him.
That is really all we know for now. I am guessing Jim will be home before Thanksgiving.

Awesome Weekend!

We had one awesome weekend....Friday night we were couch potatoes and didn't do anything at all except watch TV.
Saturday morning we had our regular swim lessons @ the YMCA and then we met up with my mom to do some shopping. Unfortunately we didn't find much but its is always nice to have girl time.
That night my grandmother came and got Haley for the night. You never realize how much you need a date night until you get one....LOL. Me and Willie had a very enjoyable night out for dinner. It is so night to have peaceful conversation over dinner with your husband. We had a very good time out but of course we had to get home so we didn't miss the UFC fights that were coming on TV. (not my idea of fun but Willie looks forward to it every weekend.) I snuggled up on the couch and went to sleep while he watched the fights.
What a relaxing night!
Sunday we decided to go to some open houses around town since we hadn't done that in a while. We saw two really cute houses but both of them were way smaller than what we are looking for. Never the less, we had a good time together getting out of the house. The rest of the afternoon was spent grocery shopping and cleaning up the house before Haley got home.

I love weekends that aren't so busy!

Well it has been over a week since I wrote on here so I figure I better fill everyone in. Things have actually started slowing down a bit around the house which is good because we need a break before all of the holidays hit us. Last Saturday I took Haley to meet one her classmates from school (Paige) at Michael's for a project. Pumpkin decorating!

10/07/08 Haley's actual Birthday!

Tuesday October 7th was Haley's actual birth date so we wanted that day to stand out not just the day of her party. We started off the day by have Jack & Jill donuts for breakfast. (One of Haley's favorites). Then we went on to school and we took pink cupcakes for her class to enjoy at snack time. Haley was very excited about taking cupcakes to all of her friends.
After school we went home to find a mass of balloons in the living room....from daddy!
We had asked Haley the day before where she wanted to go for her birthday and she made it clear that she wanted to ride the saddle at Texas Roadhouse so as soon as Willie got home from work we headed to the resturant. They were pretty busy for a Tuesday night. This is one of our favorite places to eat so of course we had a good meal and then it was time to ride the saddle which is what Haley had been looking forward to all day. She climbed on top of the saddle and already knew what to do before anyone told her. She laughed the whole time the employees sang Happy Birthday to her. It defenately made her day.

After Roadhouse we took Haley to Best Buy to pick out a new game for her Nintendo DS that she got for her birthday. She saw someone else playing the spongebob game so she had been asking for it so when knew that is what she wanted. Although by the time she looked through all the games she had her hand full of the ones she wanted but of course she could only pick one and she stuck with the sponge bob game.

She has played that game non-stop since Tuesday night. I think she had a pretty good birthday and she is already talking about next year.
